Stamford, CT, November 2020: TrueNorth Capital Partners LLC (“TrueNorth”) a leading middle-market investment bank, has announced the addition of Andrew Bess as Managing Director. Mr Bess will head up the company’s new New Jersey location, which offers the full range of TrueNorth’s services, including M&A advisory, capital raising, restructuring, valuations and fairness opinions as well as strategic planning. Mr. Bess will focus on the Smart Cities and Infrastructure sectors and, together with the other partners, cover a full range of industries.
Mr. Bess brings a wealth of experience to the TrueNorth team, having worked on a broad array of strategic advisory and corporate finance transactions over the past 20 years. He previously established Palmer Capital Advisors, a FINRA-registered broker-dealer, on behalf of a New York-based private equity firm focused on infrastructure investment. Prior to Palmer, he was a Managing Director at Daroth Capital Advisors, a boutique investment bank he co-founded and -managed for 14 years. Mr. Bess previously worked as an investment banker with both Wasserstein Perella & Co. and Ernst & Young. He holds a BA from Colby College and an MBA from Columbia University.

Joining Mr. Bess as a Managing Director in the New Jersey office is Andrew Cahill, a member of TrueNorth’s Special Situations practice group. Mr. Cahill has over 36 years of business experience including structuring, negotiating, packaging, and executing distressed and turnaround solutions in diverse industries. He has significant experience in a broad range of transaction types, including the acquisition of non-performing loans, managing private equity principal investments, private placements, public offerings, and financial restructurings.
