We'll turn our discussions for the first time to American indigenous peoples. This book tells us our shared history their point of view.  The book was the 2015 recipient of the American Book Award. From the publisher's website

Today in the United States, there are more than five hundred federally recognized Indigenous nations comprising nearly three million people, descendants of the fifteen million Native people who once inhabited this land....Spanning more than four hundred years, this classic bottom-up peoples’ history radically reframes US history and explodes the silences that have haunted our national narrative.

Hope to see you there!

The Book Club leaders  are Laura Liss and John Weber from XPX’s Chicago chapter. More Book Club leaders, especially those who self-identify as diverse, are strongly encouraged to email Laura Liss if they have an interest in getting involved (laura@lisslamar.com) or you may volunteer live during the Zoom meeting. Please also contact Laura Liss with any other questions about the Book Club.

Can't make this meeting? Be sure to sign up for the Informed Inclusion email list in your profile so you get future notices about Book Club meetings.  Our intention is to hold these meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
